I got my car back Friday from Advanced Auto getting my Long Tube Hooker Headers with a 3" exhaust installed. All I can say is I have not stopped smiling all weekend. There is a noticable difference in performance and now it finally sounds like a Vette should. The big difference is above 3000 rpm the motor just starts to pull and doesn't stop to the rev limit. I highly recommend the header upgrade to anyone.

no they do not

Kind of curious, did you have it dynoed before & after?

1/4 Mile times, if ya ran it before the mod, it would be interesting to see what improvement you see.

Later . . . . . .

definately worth the $$$. best bang for the buck I think. I noticed a good increase in performance once I had the headers, exhaust, and intake. Made it a whole new car!
Just keep in mind that your gas mpg will decrease. Mine did for about a month because my foot became very heavy:L . after that it actually increased!
Have fun driving. We are some of the few that get away with the winter
driving. ;)

I did not have it dynoed before the Headers, but I did run it at the strip. The best Time I posted was a 13.87 @ 98.69 MPH. That was on a 2437' DA day in the middle of the afternoon. I plan on taking it to the strip in the next couple of weeks to see what it will do now. I already know it will run faster just by the fact the the DA's are much lower right now in the 400' range.

Is it possible that you post a link of the company that did the work on your car or where those parts are for sale?

Best regards,

Best regards,

That would be me.... :)

Greg's ride has a "mandrel fab" system in place (custom built) and indeed does sound as a Corvette should now. Thanks for the kind words and enjoy your Vette!

Congrats Greg! :upthumbs

I just put the EM longtubes on mine. I hear ya', what a difference. I'm suffering from perma-smile too! :D

Good headers really wake these car up.

I take a big performance hit due to the altitude 1.2miles (6280ft) above sea level, however, since my header EM LT install (about a year ago) during normal driving my car hits 2nd hard enough that the ASR light blink and when I am hammering it it will burn 2nd and 3rd hard enough to get sideways even when the ASR is on! I am looking forward on how it runs when I finally get all of the auxiliary pieces necessary for my Head/cam install.

You guys are killing me with this talk about headers. I'm getting ready to place an order for a H&K USP which would hit me for the same as a set of TPIS headers and then I read this thread! :L

so what would you have more fun doing? shooting people or driving a bad @ss sounding vette? :r or :lou hehehe

congrads on the headers man! you'll probably pick up 2 tenths or 20 rwhp with headers alone but if you did the full exhaust and hi flow cats or lost the cats more like 30 rwhp. for us L98 guys we pick up alittle more rwhp due to the restriction of the manifolds and 2 to 1 to 2 exhaust setup.

with the 2000 less DA and 20 more rwhp you'll probably run in the 13.30 range and around 103+ mph maybe alittle better if you nail the launch on a perfect run :beer

Which USP?

I have had one in .45 since '99 its a nice little pistol. I bought it for way under what good headers cost. However, I was eligible for the good-guy discount! If I were in your shoes I would buy the pistol.

USP compact in 9mm. :D

:) My header $$$ got spent at the gun show back in October... for a Kimber Custom II TLE/RL. Money well spent (or maybe not, now that I have 1911 fever!). But I digress....

Well, it's said and done. I just ordered a 9mm USP compact two tone. I got 7 10-round magazines and 5 13-round mags. It also comes with a rail adapter, holster and laser. The rail adapter could be useful but I think the holster and laser are just cheapos because they're free.

Oh yeah, all that cost me about $800. :D

Congrats on your purchase!
