I learned a good lesson yesterday!!

I had been running on the same tune for about three weeks. Coincidentally, I connected my diagnostic tools to the car Sunday, and while the car was warming up, it started to run poorly. I figured it had to do something to do with the prom or ECM, thinking that I connected my laptop and created havoc.

I just couldn't get over the coincidence, and put blinders on. I started thinking well, maybe it is a plug or a wire. Sure enough, my brother was over helping me diagnose the issue, and he found a plug wire that had come loose, and was laying against the header. It fried the plug wire, and that was the issue.

When a technical problem comes up, it is always a good idea to open your mind, and start with the simple things. Have a plan and see it through.

I have a question for ya...

When you connect the scanner and put the key in the run position (but dont start it), does your fuel pump run extra long? Mine will run for a good 25 seconds which cannot be good.

This only happens when I connect the scanner? Normally it will run 3 seconds before statup.

I don't think it does. I'm sure I would have noticed something like that. Mine is OBD1 and yours is OBDII. That could be the difference.
