Help! I love My Corvette

Hi my name is jim and I am new to the club. This Corvette club looks interesting. If I am able to help anyone out there, I will try. I am having a problem with my 1984 Corvette. The water pump went out and before I could fix it, 10 months went by,after puting the new water pump on, I try starting my car and It would not start. If I primed the intake ports it would start right up and run and then die. My fuel Injectors are not geting any gas. Would someone please help me with my problem.

As for your problem, I would start by replacing the fuel filter.

Welcome Jim, This may sound crazy, but considering that the car has sat for ten months, Be sure there is gas in the tank and that the car is sitting level so the fuel pump can suck up some of the gasoline. Believe me this isn't the first time a car has been out of gas. If not then as mentioned, I'd check to see if there is fuel at the injectors, I'd loosen a fuel line and turn on the key to see if there is some flow. If not check the fuse for the fuel pump, but once you turn the key to the 'on' position, you should hear the pump kick on .

One more little piece of advice; NEVER let it sit that long!

First of all, you don't buy a corvette and then not drive it, lol.

Second, I realize your water pump is out, so you're not going to be taking an afternoon drive. But you should still at least start it up every day, or even every other day or so, and let it warm up a little, and even back it up & down the driveway a few times. Just keep it running and moving, etc.
