I miss my 88. It is so terible knowing someone else is driving it or doing who knows what with it. I heard from a neighbor of the new owner that he didnt even put it in his garage, he lets anyone drive it, and it is muddy!!!

We are going to Texas to get our CE thursday night. I cant wait.

Heres a pic of our (used to be) 88 at "Corvettes On The Isthmus" this summer waiting for the road tour to start.

What a great looking car. I know how you feel. I will never be able to part with my vette. I get nervous when it is at a shop, which I try to keep to rare occasions. It is a shame that a good car fell into the hands of a corvette owner like that. However maybe some day somebody will really stick it to him and he will change his ways.

I heard the same rumor about my ex-wife! ;LOL

Ouch! Mine was near mint when I bought it 3 years ago and it's never seen poor conditions yet. The underside is still like new. I plan to keep it that way.
Hope I never HAVE to sell it...

Thanks for the post, it's just what I am afriad of. I'm sorry you've heard bad news about your car.

I had a black Sonoma that I kept so clean people teased me about it. It bothered me to carry anything in the bed and my nephews knew touching the paint meant certain death. I sold it to get the vette. The kid that bought it seemed as interested in keeping it up as I was - I even gave some of my products to keep it clean and waxed. Now I see him all over town, it's caked in mud and he put stickers all over the tailgate, the tires don't even match.

Now I am looking forward to the same thing with the vette. I have a 10 month old boy that I weathered the vette through but now we have another due in February. I simply cannot find a way to pay for it before number two gets here. My only consulation is I am keeping it until Alex turns 1 and can go for a ride in it before I sell it. Although I have to find some way to turn the airbag off. Maybe just a spin around the subdivision. I wonder if I can give him Corvette Fever at 1 year old?

I haven't given up on keeping it but it isn't looking good right now. Tha'ts why I was thinking of ebay, so if the new owner doesn't care for it at least i won't ever know about it.
