I got the C5 seats finally(thanks FastcashDave). Now I need a harness. What's a good racing harness to use? What are you guys using? I saw a few different lengths being offered too.

I heard Simpson started up again? Worth the price?

Also advised to get "cam-locks"?

Opinions?

I use G-Force harnesses in mine, but Simpson offers a trade-in program for harnesses that are out-of-date. It might prove worthwhile ($) to purchase Simpson in the long run. ;)

I don't know the history of your project so I'll comment generically. Judging from the seats I assume you're building a fast road/autocrosser. If building a road racer, by all means choose a cam-lock because you can't be fighting stinkin' levers on the pregrid! The same might be true for autocross if your run is imminent. For a street car, the harness limits my abuility to turn and look over my shoulder and I've elected they're more hazard than help. As much as I'd love to use them.
The last time around I bought Crow harnesses mostly because Simpson couldn't supply them. The set seems very good. I've still got a set of nice out of date Simpson Camlocks when they start rewebbing again.
In summation, buy the camlocks from whomever...HTH, Steve in Las Vegas

That looks an awful lot like a minivan. Are you going to put C5 seats and a racing harness in that minivan? God I hope not.

How do you run the shoulder harness?? To me they would just slide down the sides of the seat becoming irritating. I perfer to have the shoulder straps running through the seat so they are held in place and that is not possible with those seats.

You need to mount a harness bar in back of the seats for the shoulder part of the harness.

Maybe they can help w/ c3, not sure.

I don't think Dave Cooper (r-dracing) markets a harness bar for C3 ... but he's sure worth a try ... and great guy too. Besides, the car already has a SharkBar. We get recycled Nascar stuff from this guy ... he's built a reputable, reliable business too.
