I need to replace the PCM on my 2000 Corvette. Here are the numbers from the current PCM:
SERV.NO. 09354896 CYUB
*86CYUB910052Z3LJ* 09381561
HDW NO. 16220610
I need some guidance on purchasing the replacement. I am hoping to avoid going to the dealership.
What do the letters CYUB indicate?
What do *86CYUB910052Z3LJ* and 09381561 indicate?
Is a replacement that is “flash” programmed to my VIN number acceptable?
Why do some programmers ask for only the VIN number and others want my mileage, too?
Wouldn’t a remanufactured PCM be preferable to a used PCM? (I haven’t been able to find a new PCM that the seller programs.)
Which brand of PCM (AC Delco, Cardone, etc.) is the best?
Can anyone suggest a reputable seller of PCM’s for my corvette?
Thanks for the help!
