Ignition Key very hard to turn

I have a 1997 auto Coupe. The ignition switch is very hard to turn. It seems locked and when im finally able to turn on the car it feels kind of hard spining the key. Anything i can check or do i have to change the whole ignition? If so is this something the dealer has to do?

HI there,
It is possible that the ignition lock will have to be changed, as long as the switch behind it is not binding.
You could change them. You will only need a 10mm socket once the trim panel is removed.

Thanks, the dealer was working on the car fixing the ac before it happend. Seems like the dash was mounted wrong. "Didnt appear to be" but once it was put back into place everything was ok.
