Ignition Noise

I have a friend that owns a "94 vette. After not driving for a couple of weeks, he encounters a loud Click just prior to cranking.

Does anyone know what the loud click is?

Remember, that it only does it after sitting for a while.

I moved it to the C4 section- hopefully someone there will have an idea about what might be up with the "click".
