After driving my '67 427/390 home, I parked it in the driveway and wan't able to restart it. Never had problems starting it before. The engine would turnover, but no spark. The first thing I did, was try swapping out the ignition coil which didn't help. I traced the problem to the solid-state ignition module going bad since I was not getting a spark at any of the cylinders. I replaced the module as well as the firewall "step-down" resistor, but still blew the new module once I tried to start it. Assume that I must have a short? I think I checked the obvious. 2 weeks, starting to get warm, no vette. Any ideas?

Module? What system do you have? Since it's a 67, and I assume a nice car, why not the stock system? It's the most reliable ignition system ever made for these cars. Others may disagree, but there is no proof of anything better for long life.

K66 did not use a "step down" resistor. If you are frying the amp it may be some kind of short in the K66 specific harness.

Wiring diagram is in the '67 Chassis Service Manual.

Like others mentioned, the question can be best answered if you describe the system you have.

Distributor? GM...aftermarket...brand...model

Module? GM TI...aftermarket...brand...model

The car has the original distributor with a electronic conversion. I think it is a Pertronix? Other than that, the ignition system is stock.
