I have a intermittent problem on my 89.vette
after a starting the engine cuts out . And attempt to start again floods the engine. The car my run for a very short time,or up to an hour....my thoughts are thats its a problem with the ignition module...

Derek-

Have you read any codes? System may have set one w/o Check Engine Light setting.

Immediately after stall, do you have spark to plugs?

thanx for coming back
Its going in on Tuesday, for a code read, but in the mean time I was just trying to look for the easy things, before it cost $$.

there is a spark, however a weak one,not hot enough to fire a fresh charge of gas....might be the coil?..and since writing it will not start at all......sigh

I`ll post you back with the outcome

Hi guys
it was the ECM at fault, sending triple signals to the injectors, thanx for the help.

The ECM thing surprises me. It is uncommon for one to go out. Anyway, I thought the Opti-crap sent the signals to fire the injectors on the "low resolution" output circuit of the Opti. Did you have to replace the computer or the PROM in the computer?

Hi
they told me the PROM had to be changed
Any way,the car goes better that before....but it cost AU$900
cos the ppl that did the conversion made it hard to get at the unit
