I am looking for a quieter car. What should I be looking for in regards to year, or options. My '86 is noisy. I would really like a convertible next time, but how much noisier are they over coupes? I'd like to stick to a C4, due to price, but if they are all noisy, are the C5's noticeably better? Also, mine rides like a lumber wagon with the Z51. Are 'vetts with standard suspension much smoother? I know I sound like a *****, but the wife drives the 'vette, and I drive the rat powered Cutlass and the '75 Camaro with the 427 rat.

Quiter? That is just the nature of the beast. All sports cars are noisy. For quite get a luxo car. :)

Get a Callaway TT....super quiet and smooth.....and ridiculously fast. :D

If my ears aren't bleeding it's too quiet. :D

LOL, looks like you asked the wrong people for advice on a quiet Corvette ejrempel.

For what it's worth. It's been my experience that the newer the 'Vette, the quieter and smoother the ride. My GS is light-years beyond my old '78 in pretty much any measureable sense.

I did take a '99 FRC for a test drive, shortly before I bought my GS. I was rather disapointed in the power. I expected it to be a much stronger car than the LT4 I had just taken for a test drive.

But on a good note, the C5 was a lot more roomy on the inside, and much quieter, with out the jaring bouncing present in our Z51 C4's.

All in all, if you want quiet and smooth, get the newest 'Vette you can afford.

Hope this helps,

Jason

I agree 110% with you. :D I love the loudness.

Why are Callaways quiet? :confused That kind of strikes me odd.
