injecting air after the o2 sensor....

I've been thinking about a couple of things...and after seeing bob86zz4 (??) run the pcv into the air fitting on the 2149 headers i've got an idea.

I want to run my pcv after my 02 sensor so the o2 does not think the car is running lean.

Does anyone think this will help the car exhaust system be cleaner?

Plus what kind of tubing material can I use to withstand the heat?

This is just an idea for now.

I'm a little lost... your talking about injecting air after the O2 and hooking up a PCV ?? they are 2 different things.. ok.. PCV system is used to vent hydro carbons (gas fumes) from the crank case.. the air injection system is used to provide oxygen for the cats.. there is a diverter valve on most GM cars with air injection that switches the air from from the air injection pump(smog pump) to either up stream or down stream.. the idea of going upstream is for warming up the O2 sensor(s) be placing more oxygen in the exhaust with the fuel it helps get the O2's up to running temp they do not work when cold.. then when the vehicle is warm the air is diverted down stream to the cat to use for oxygen storage so that the cat can convert the exhaust gasses into water and and co2 ect.. so making the air injection system be downstream all the time can help you 1) Ruin your catalitic converter quicker , and 2) Make your vette take longer to get into closed loop operation....

So the answer is no it will not help you.. it must operate the way it is supposed to from the factory.. in my opinion if your state has emissions testing leave the smog pump connected and operational the removal can add more headaches then it is worth the cost out weights the benifit..

it was just an idea. Im in the same state as you (Illinois) but for now im in Las Vegas enjoying myself for awhile.

I gotta get emissions taken care of when I get back to Chicago and I wanna put my car on the dyno too.
