Howdy, I already have the sidepipes here, the original style covers and the hardware for the covers. Now I'm think what all needs to be changed/modified to make them fit? Any ideas? Pics?

Thanks:beer

may be other things needed also, but I know you need to cut off or bend up the rocker panel tabs (if possible bend them up so if you want to return the car to original they are there).
did you also get a new rear valence panel without the exhaust cutouts?

as long as you are going to have the exhaust off the exhaust manifolds, buy new donuts - the GM composite (sintered) ones are better and will last longer and at the same time make sure the collars are also installed alone with the donuts.

The AIM Gives a drawing of the piece of the lower rear front fender that must bew removed.

Having taken my covers and pipes off about 3 times (and mine is not an
original side-pipe car), I can suggest that when installing the pipes, if
you are doing it on the ground on ramps, to support the whole pipe some-
what in place unless you have a friend who can hold it in place while you
bolt the pipe to the frame and exhaust manifold.

I like to use loc-tite when bolting the pipe to the manifold and making sure
the donut is fitting correctly without any gaps is important.

Also, if you are installing new pipes the butterfly on the heat riser may catch
as it did on mine-I decided to replace the heat riser with a spacer - saves
alot of headaches.

Make sure the pipes are not hanging down below the shield if you can before
tightening the bolts.

Good Luck
