I took the rear window trim of my '63 to have it polished. It looks like a million bucks now, but alas, it looks like I am going to have to re-install it. I know things come apart easier than they go together, so are there any tips I should be aware of? Do I tilt the pieces toward the body or the glass to get it started or have it horizontal? To seat it, will hand pressure do or do I need a machinist mallet and a towel? Should I lube it with soap to make it easier? Thanks in advance, Classic

I usually hook the glass side to keep from putting pressure on the painted edge of the opening first then use palm pressure to snap the other side down. A little soap to help it slip onto the clip is a good idea. If you need to use a mallet be very carefull not to hit it any harder that is necessary although the stainless is pretty tough.
