I put a lot of posts on this site. I think i must have baught the worst vette that has been built. If it can go wrong on a vette, it has happen'd to mine.

Everyone told me not to buy a 84-89 because of the digital dash. Well i am now have'n a problem with it. Not very often but maybe once a week, my whole instrument panel with shut off for about 5 minutes. It doesn't have any effect on anything. But the turn signal arrows come on, and they just stick on. It has no effect on the blinkers. Just weird how it comes on and off randomly. Maybe a short, or something. ???????????

Over the X-mas holiday I am going to paint it. I don't want it to do a solid color, but something real cool. I wonder what an orange c4 with white stripes would look like. I don't think i ever saw an orange one. ~just a thought~

Any cool ideas????

What you describe is a common symptom of a bad connection in the board-to-board connector inside the cluster. If you are up to taking it out and apart, you can't miss the connector, it's a big white connector in the top right corner (as viewed from the back side of the cluster) that connects the two circuit boards together. Sometimes it's in the connector's spring contacts themselves, sometimes it a solder joint that's broken loose.
