Insurance Woes

I was driving home from my friends the other day in my impala. It had been raining and i was going around a curve in the road. My car began to fishtail to the right so i turned the wheel and was in a dead spin. My car was thrown from the road into a ditch. The door is smashed in and the rear quarter is smashed up as well the rest is fine. They had to have the police come and close the road to get it out. I was registered on this car as my primary driver. My vette is in my dads name for cheaper insurance. How will this effect my insurance on the vette. Im 16 years old i can only imagine the cash im gonna have to throw out.

First off

I hope you and your passengers were not injured. Look the bottom line, you may have to pay more insurance. But, at least you are around to pay it.

The other side of the coin, since you are so young and parts for the 66 are not easy to come by, why not make it a project car to fix up, restore and as time and money permits, improve upon it. Think of this as an opportunity.

I hope you learned from this accident and will try to avoid that situation next time. Most of us have had accidents in our lives. I still relive some of them so that I do not make the same mistake twice.

Ill probably end up selling it I like the vette better even though i put so much time and effort into it. such is life.

I agree with singledad, at least you are OK. It sometime seems the only way for insurance to go IS up when you are 16.

Do the project thing if you can and enjoy knowing you fixed it and made it the way you want it.
