You learn something new everyday. For years I was under the impression the shift linkage was the same with the T10-D and the Muncie in a 1963. I found out yesterday that are slight differences in the bends of the rods and the lengths that do cause some adjustment issues. I was using Muncie style shift linkage (rods) and just could not get a good fix on the newly restored T10D close ratio transmission..... HMMMMM..... Any comments on this one??

Hi! Collin

You also need to check the shifter. There are different levers (where the rods connect to the shifter) between the Muncie and BW.

Thanks Ray...we did do that..we are currently into the fine tuning now and I just discovered a need a new battery...does it over stop???

Not when you own a 63! This has been the must frustrating restoration of all. Just when I solve one problem another problem pops up. I now have a temperature gauge that does not work and I noticed a vibration coming from the rear of the car at about 50-60 miles an hour. The 63 sure puts the problem solving skills to the test.

Only the shifter itself and the 1-2 and 3-4 linkage rods are shared between '63 T-10's and '63 Muncies; the reverse linkage rod is different, as are the shift levers on the side cover and tailhousing. :)

John,

That is were I have finally found the problem was inside the cover the Y shift levers...they are rather delicate or sensitive when adjusting, but finally think I got it...after a lot of trial and error. You are right, the reverse lever is the different one, bend is much more acute on Muncie. Finally getting it back together....I will let you know how it turns out...Collin
