So I just searched former threads for about an hour trying to find someone that has had a similar problem and I can't get any answers. I am in the process of putting the interior back together on my 75 and I was trying to mount the interior door handles but the bottom screw hole on the drivers side is stripped and the bottom screw hole on the passenger side looks like it is beyond stripped it is blown out completely. So I have to remove the door panels now whitch is not a nig deal because the windows are hard to roll up and down anyway and I was going to fix them as well but how do I repair these screw holes? The one hole I can probably retap but I am not sure what to do about the passenger side. Please help!

are these machine screws and are threaded,or not threaded????

Cut a small square of sheet metal and pop rivet it to the inside door frame. Then re-drill the hole for your trim screw to the proper size. Corvette vendors sell kits of metal squares and rivets, but it's easy enough to make your own. Most hardware stores carry small pieces of sheet metal in the 18 gauge to 24 gauge range. They will also have the rivets.

Thanks this will help. While I was thinking about my problem I had a similar idea but kept thinking I would have to get it welded so the pop rivets will eliminate the need for welding which is good because I do not weld.
