Aren't the interior lights supposed to come on in the Z06 when you shut the car off and pull the key out? I thought they were but now the only lights that come on in my car (2004 Z06) are the door switch lights, I thought when I first got it that the radio and HVAC lights were coming on also. Since I leave for work at 5 am every day it is pretty dark when I get to work most days at 5:45 am so this is a feature of all of the other GM vehicles that I've bought since '96 that I really enjoy. Since it is on the $9,200 base model Cavalier that I just bought and on the $11,800 base Siverado I bought in 2003 I figured it should be on the Vette also. Since the Z06 may be different than the lesser C5s I figured to put my post here where people would know for sure. Thanks.

HI there,
Yes, they are supposed to come on when you remove the key.

Are there any codes in the BCM??? All interior lighting function is controlled by the body control module, so there may be something there. Also, try to open the passenger side and see if the lights come on.

I can hook up the scanner tonight and see if any codes come up. The lights come on when I open the doors and they stay on when I close the doors and then fade when I start the car. Today when I got to work, my door switch lights, HVAC lights, radio lights and dash lights came on but none of the interior lights did. Thanks.
