About to inherit a 1981 and after looking at it it’s become obvious that i will need to replace most if not all of the interior. I’ve looked around some forums and a few sites and am having trouble finding info on what packages i could buy for a c3. I’m interested in both aftermarket and original work. This will be my first "restoration" car and I am looking to learn as much as possible and these forums have been a huge help. Thanks for any reply.

Before you begin there are several things that you need to do. The first is to determine what you want this car to be. You have several options.
1. Correctly restored as the factory delivered it.(check out www.ncrs.org)
2. A fun driver and weekend cruiser.
3. A cool looking daily driver
4. Custom show car
5. What ever you want it to be.

There are many vendors out there and you have to decide what fits best in your plan. Most correct, highest quality, cheapest, best looking, or the wildest. Ask questions here and on other websites before you do anything because once you go down the road it is very difficult to change the destination. Good luck and have a good time. Remember this is supposed to be fun and entertaining.

Now that I have spent considerable time not answering your question here goes. For interior products I have found that Al Knoch makes the highest quality and closest to original interior pieces. He is however far from the cheapest, but I consider it money well spent since I spend most of my time inside of the car looking at the interior.

Thanks for the reply. In terms of what i plan on doing with it im definatley planning on going with number 3. "A cool looking daily driver". I want this to be a daily car and i have no plans on showing it. I do not however want to totally loose the value of the car as a whole, since currently it is near totally authentic in terms of engine work. Engine wise i want it to be maybe not as close as it would need to be in order to show but still driveable on a day to day basis.

But going back to my original post i would like a sort of new age, comfortable interior. I love the look of some of the aftermarket interiors for many of the c5's and c6's. Anyone have any pictures on what they have done with their interior? Im talking new seats, carpet, side pannels and so on.

If the car is otherwise original (matching numbers), you will devalue the car if you modify it. You can have a very nice daily driver with a stock interior in it.

All the aftermarket providers have interior packages. Pick your favorite.
