I am getting ready to have my seats redone in my 97. I have a quote of $1,200 to completely recover the seats. Does this seem like a fair price. I am also thinking that I need to add some more cushion. The seats are not very comfortable. Also, the drivers side seats is starting to pull from the plastic next to the door.

Thanks,
Tracy

Hi there,
Honestly, you have an open ended question here.
You see, depending on if you have the sport seats, or the base seats, will change the costs.
If you have the sport seats, and you replace all 3 seat surfaces, then you will cost about $600 for the cushions, and the surfaces, and it takes about 3 hours to do each seat. This is using factory replacement parts. Just remember, the center lumbar surface comes with the outer cover, so you will NOT have to pay for that piece, it comes with the outer.
Reference the attached diagram.
If this price is for one seat, this is too high. If this price is for both, it is reasonable.

It is for both seats, and they are not the sport seats. I like the sport seats a lot more Would it be worth it to pay the extra for the sport seat. Thanks Very Much.

Hi there,
Many like the lumbar adjustments, and the style. However, it would be very cost prohibitive.
I would suggest a different course of action here, based on what you have said.
Please remember, that when ZO6 came out in 01, they increased the support of the seating foam, and redesigned the fabric that contacts the center console.
I would suggest that you obtain the foam from the AR9, which is the seats that you have. However, specify the 01 model year for the foam, as this will get you the upgraded foam.
Then, the seat surfaces for the 97, as you have.
This should give you excellent support, and no need for additional foam, which could distort the seating surfaces.
Sit in a ZO6, and check out exactly what I am speaking of.

Thank You for the great suggestions. I will be looking into getting the seats next week.
