I recently acquired a 1988 C4 that overall is in pretty good condition. Some genius damaged the floor pan at all 4 jacking points. It appears that they slipped a floor jack in at the jacking points and jacked on the pan until it crushed it in all 4 corners. Maybe they did it with a lift. Who knows.

What am I looking at to repair this type damage? Is this a body off type restoration?

That's a shame that happened :( Good thing is, the floors can be repaired for a reasonable cost - I know of a ZR1 that had 2 holes punched into the flooring when it fell off a trailers ramps (3 ft fall) about $1200 bucks to fix - Hope this helps - FWIW, a Chevy dealeship bodyshop fixed the damage.

I had the same thing happen to mine before I bought it. One of the previous owners used to race it, and I have no problem with that, but his pit crew must have been missing a few lug nuts, because they jacked the car from right there in the same place - the floors! I guess when you're in a hurry with a pit stop, you don't have time to hunt for the lift points. :L

What I did in my case was to first remove both seats, then I jumped up and down on the affected area until I discovered that it was getting me nowhere, so then I got out the big hammer. That did the trick; they popped back into place, with only a few small dents in the creased area. It at least allows the seats to sit level now, whereas before they were both tipped to the outside. :eyerole

Oh by the way, you might want to check the area where the firewall (which is fiberglass) meets the floors (which are made of aluminum). When I had the carpeting totally removed during one of my forays into the interior, I discovered daylight shining through the floor at the firewall. Upon closer inspection, it appears as though the damage may have been inflicted when it was raised by jacking it under the floors. Just a thought for you to bear in mind. ;)

I too discovered a hole in the fiberglass part of the floorpan near the front after I got my Vette. Had all sorts of grass and mud in it, oddly enough. Anyway. I cleaned it out and filled it with expanding foam insulation, then scraped that down on the outside. You can't see it unless you're under the car, so I'm not really worried about looks, but I was taking in water when driving through puddles.
