Well, as I'm not american I figured I would still have my own little celebration. When I aquired this car it was in really bad shape, motor barely ran and leaked like crazy the interior was trashed and I thought I had undertaken a project that I just would never get to where it is today.
My little Red 75 has been 13 months in the rebuilding, almost all of it on the motor, just a quick run down.. had it hot tanked and blueprinted.. then the fun started new cam, new lifters, new rods new springs, new intake, new exhaust, new starter, new water pump, new altenator, new carb, new heads, new fan, new fuel pump, new hoses complete car, new engine air seals complete, a ton of re-wiring and steel lines. All of which I did myself except for the tanking and blueprinting.
Still left to do, finish the engine dressup, clean the engine bay, re mount the fan shroud, switch over to the new digital guages, put in the new carpet, put on new leather, new dash pad, new hood and if I get around to it this year paint.
But I'm getting away from what I'm actually planning, at this point in this project its finally ready to start, and seeing as how its american muscle, I figured no better time then the 4 of July to give this vette a new lease on life. I just finished off refilling all the lubricants (oil, colant etc) and put on the new belts... so till the 4th it sleeps and god willing it will live again.
