I just bought a 98, auto, It is stock. It has gy f-1's. I have raced before so I know to stay out of the water and stage. It has the performance axle ratio (?) Here is what I need to know
1. What setting should I run , tour,sport perf
2 traction control off ( I say yes Da)
3 what times should I consider good. I know there are alot of varibles but reasonable time to expect?
4 Shift rpm(s) my guess 5800
5 Anything else would be greatly appreciated

See my reply in the drag racing section, where you also posted this very same question. :eyerole

A good guess would be 13.5 @ 105.5 mph.

Have fun and let the automatic do its thing.

Just don't start in "2" - put it in "3" and let 'er rip.

1/4 MILE

How fast you go depends on elevation, too. I have a '97 A4 that runs 14.1 @ 102 at 2600 ft elevation. I put it in 3rd, traction control off, put my left foot on the brake and give enough gas to get to about 1800 rpm. Then release the brake and punch the gas at the last yellow light.
