the cap that is the stk zr1 muffler tail pipe . one is open and the other has a cap in it with a little hole in it. if so what did they sound like . just bought another car and wanted to play around with the stk exhaust to see if i can get the sound i want with out having to buy more stuff . are these muffler the straight through design like some of the newer mufflers out there . i am going to remove the resonater and make amixing chamber out of my old flowmaster resonator . but thought it might be fun to see what the stk mufflers might be capabable of .

I think I read a post somewhere that you cant remove the plate. I think I recall the post saying that the muffler wasnt chambered inside up to that plate and you wouldnt get any more performance or better sound quality from the stock mufflers. I've tried to find the old post but had no luck, maybe someone has seen the post and can chime in.

You'll probably find, if you remove those plates, the exhaust sound will not be very pleasent and the performance gain will be minimal at best.
