keyless entry comes on!!

On my 96 LT1 information center the keyless entry light comes on for a couple of seconds and then goes out.

Does this mean that l need a new battery in my Fob???

P.S. In all of the cars that l've owned l have not had so many little things happen and l've owned so many cars that l would have to actually sit down and go through my old photo's to count them.

l only drive my vette on the weekends and put on approx 300 miles a month.

It comes on when l start the engine or right afterwards and then goes out.
