Is 1992 a year that had the keyless entry. If, so how hard is to get a new one? Is it possible to have this sort of system installed?:confused

I would not worry about having a keyless entry if I were you...I have that feaure in my 95 and I have disabled it from my remote! It is nothing but an annoyance... Especially when e.g. cleaning your car at home or fueling at a gas station you may / will need to get close / get far to & from your car and this dingy makes the doors lock & unlock at its own will, and of course it arms the alarm system.

One of these times we were at a gas station when I went away to pay the bill & my wife stayed in the car. She opened the passanger door and set the alarm !!! :mad The whole gas station looking at the car as if that is what we wanted them to do. :( That was the end of my keyless entry feature. Came back home and set it off. :CRASH Never used it again and never will...

Cheers

Selim

Do not spend your money for keyless entry system. There must be something better to spend money in your Corvette.

I had a local audio shop install a three button remote in my coupe, lock, un-lock and hatch.
There is a thread on this and how to wire to retain factory alarm, they had no problem with the install, and it works great.
I spent less then $200.00 out the door.

Key Less pain in the ...

...:booty

I also have a 95 and yes it gets old. I had a 92 with a remote locking system and it worked pretty cool. It locked the doors after it was on, I liked that. Again your money, your choice if it will make you happy...Do it!!:D

I have a '96 coupe with PKE problems now. The stupid light stays on and I read where you have disabled your system. Is there an easy way to disable this? I would love the get this light out. Mine comes on sometimes and not on others. Not the worst problem but it drives me crazy seeing this light on.

HELP!!!!!!!!

My '94 has the passive remote (PKE system). It can be a pain when working on or near the car. At those times it is really simple to deactivate and later activate. It's a matter of holding the button down for a short time but I can see how aggravating it can be to some. No doubt why it no longer is offered.

For anyone that is intrested. If you want to install remote start and or keyless entry system , look at this site. http:www.bulldogsecurity.com
I have installed a number of their remote start systems complete with keyless entry. They are very good about support, have wiring diagrams etc on their site and have a great warrenty. My remote will work nearly 2 blocks from the car. They have many diff security and remote systems available. The wiring diagrams may even be helpfull in trouble shooting oem .
