Keyway on 87 crank failing?

Found a 87 about to be wholesaled at a dealer with the keyway for the harmonic balancer damaged??!! Will see if it was hamfisted mechanics later today. Was wondering if this was something anyone has heard of?
68K mile car that appeared in very good shape but will do a closer inspect later today and update you all.
Shopping is soo..., entertaining!

Not usually a big problem if caught in time. What ya find out otherwise while shopping?

bought a 85 elsewhere

And have the motor out, see other posts.
Wont be building this one at this time.
Maybe down the road but I doubt it.
Will just drive and slowly update it.
