While trying to get to my fuse panel I noticed that the kick panel (to the left of the drivers feet) blocked access to the far left row of fuses. I pushed it and discovered that it was only held in place by one screw (in the lower corner nearest the seat.) The panel has other screw holes but on my car (which has seen a lot of "after factory" work if you know what I mean) there doesn't seem to be any backing to attach screws to.

Am I missing a piece that would fit between the kick panel and the body that the kick panel would screw to? The upper right hand (closest to the firewall) corner of the kick panel appears to have a screw fitting but I don't see anything to attach to.

Wassup?

:confused

On my 1980 only 1 screw is used for that kick panel as shown in the picture.

Those kick plates were made by GM to fit many years, just about all C3 applications.
Yours might have extra screw holes or vent slats which aren't even used on your model.

Yep, looks like 1 screw is all the General intended.

Thanks,
