-an '80-Corvette(L82-eng.) owner wishes to purchase my nice complete orig./Speedo-Tachometer housing-assembly(w/Lens), and because my '80-Vette has L48-engine, we are wondering if the Tach. will indeed function properly with his stock L82-engine (am presuming the speedo. will function correctly)? Anybody have specific knowledge about any potential mismatching here (especially the electronic Tach.), --before I complete transaction; is there something different about them (ie: -did the L82's Tach. have something different visually or functionally?); -he wants an informed answer so that his re-installation would be correct oem-like, -which I'm not qualified to opinion. Please kindly advise if you know.... -Bob vH

I assume it is an electronic Tach. The Tach is triggered by the Dist/Coil and has nothing to do with the size of engine.:upthumbs

The L82 tach has a higher redline, and an L82 logo on the face of the tach. But that does not affect its operation...
