Does anyone have a set of the "aluminized replacement mufflers" sold by Mid America and Corvette America. Not the "Walker Quiet Flow" ones but the "no name" ones. I'm thinking about buying a set for my '86 coupe. It has the original mufflers now but they are starting to rust out. I wouldn't mind something a little louder but I don't want to get a headache from interior resonance.

I'd like to hear you impressions of these mufflers - sound, quality, appearance, fit, etc.

Go here to see the catalog pages containing these mufflers:

Thanks!

Don't waste your money. I put on a complete stainless steel CAT BACK system (from the catalytic converter back, 2 1/2 pipes, two mufflers, all clamps and hardware and round 3" rolled tips for just over four hundred dollars delivered to the house. It is a magnaflow system and sounds good, not too loud, in my 86 convertible. Took about an hour in my garage to take the old stuff off and put the new on, really simple, 5 bolts and two clamps and it fit perfectly. Go to www.performancepeddler.com and check them out. To get the best price you have to call them on the phone, tell them you are a member of this forum, and you want their rock bottom price. Magnaflow only allows them to advertise a certain price on the web but by phone they will beat that price by over a hundred bucks. Had them at my door in three days.

i just put some all black pacesetter mufflers on my 86, sound good, look stock under the car. but all mufflers with a little sound will get you some sound in side the cabin, heck the mufflers are only a foot or so behind you. got them off ebay for $110 pair.

they are new mufflers, i can't seem to open what you sent? they are all black which i liked since my coupe is black. it was either summit of jeg's i think that had flowmasters for $107 each which is really good for them. i think i would have like the more sound from them, at some speeds the sound almost goes away with these but when you hit the gas they sound cool.

o.k. no mine don't have the chrome tips, and mine look just like stock mufflers but all black and both tips are real openings for the exhaust to exit from.

The Flowmasters will give you more volume and rumble. Unfortunately, they will also give you resonance so you may not like that. Actually, the Flowmasters are obnoxiously loud.:D

I have 40 series flowmasters, no cat.. Got a racy sound but is a bit loud..
