L88 Fan Shroud

I read that the L88 didn't come with a fan shroud, which lead to the overheating of the engine quite often. That was supposedly (and I guess still is) a problem in this big block.

I was just wondering, if it's such of a big problem wouldn't it be possible just to put one in? Or isn't there enough room under there?

You probably could put a shroud on an L88.The problem is those cars are pure race cars.They come with no radios or even heaters they are hard to start and nasty to drive in traffic.Would I love to have one? Hell yes!A more streetable big block would be the L71 engine with the L89 option (aluminum heads).
 
Yes, I see what you mean. Maybe having an L88 BB wouldn't be such a great idea for my first Vette with what you say. Ah, I'll look around. ;)
