Thanks for the link.

Look like a nice car.

But the engine bay area does not look like an original corvette body.

The Vin number is also not a vette vin.(I stand corrected the vin fits in the range of a 59'S )

I do have to say its real sharp looking in the photos and has a real vintage look with all of the modern conveniences

Here is one I watched recently go on e-bay, I think it went cheap.

THis one was listed twice and I think what hurt this car was the over the top hood on it.I think it would have done much better if the hood wasnt so high (even if they had to remove the super charger)

This orange car definately started life as a corvette, not a reproduction body as I belive the other car is

Love the color. 17"X10"s in the rear!!! Small wonder they didn't advertise a soft top to go with it.

By the way, my SRIII is due to arrive this weekend so I'll be back in busiiness soon. Now if I can just find that elusive LS2.

Regards...

From what I understand the 59 was built about five years ago by Street Rods Only as a replica and was sold at this year's Palm Beach Barret-Jackson auction.

Larry,
I agree with you on that car. I thought that it was a bargain! I would also agree that the hood detracted from the appeal of the car, but it still went cheap in my opinion. You could not even begin to have a car of that quality built for that much money. The color was also probably something that most people either loved or hated.

I picked up on the funny looking panels under the hood right away too. If they would fix a few details on those replica bodies they would really have something.

I don't see what's wrong with the VIN # though. It appears to be on a title from a July '59 Corvette. The number series for '59 ran from J59S100001 to J59S109670. We have some cars listed in the '59 Registry that were built real close to the car that gave up it's title for this one.

I don't see any mention of the frame. I wonder if it is just a rebody on the origional frame that goes with the title.

dont know how good the price is, but here is a LS2 on EBay....

There is also a complete LS7 drive train on there by the same lister....

I guess I should have said "elusive, reasonable LS2". I've got that one on my watch list. I don't know if it's a good price either, but one sold the previous week for $9700. I helped bid that one up, but sure would have been mad had I won it.

Welcome back. How are you doing with the other parts or did you just order a roller?

I am sure once you get your frame we will hear alot more from you.

We will be waiting for pictures

Reasonable and the word Corvette do not go in the same sentence......not sure why not, but they seem to be mutually exclusive of one another....at least that has been my experience.......:eyerole

Thanks Larry,

It has been a while hasn't it. I've changed companies and cities since I last posted, but I've been keeping up with the rest of you and your progresses.

I went ahead and had Mike build a roller for me. Pretty much like yours, except I had him notch the rear crossmember to facilitate middle exhaust tips. I also went ahead and upgraded to the D44 rear although I have no good reason for doing so.

LOL...you're sure right about that!. Every once in a while one can find a bargain, but probably not on Ebay. By the way, the LS2 that sold last week for $9800...well, apparently the winning bidder reneged and now they are emailing me as runner up. Sorry...I had my one moment of insanity and they missed it.
