Go to Fastestlaps.com and check the list for Nordschleife times. Porsche just released lap times for their new 991-based 911 - 560 hp, dual clutch, all-wh drive Turbo S: 7min, 26sec. This would be 3.4 seconds slower than the now-out-of-production Z-06/07pak, which went for ~90G's. The new turbo S costs ~$180,000!! That must be SOME INTERIOR!!!!
I just don't know how Porsche can go on raping their customers when they are clearly NOT the fastest, most road-capable cars anymore. I'm also convinced that they have reached the end of the road of compensation engineering for the rear weight biased 911. They MUST either get it on with the Cayman or with the new "960" that I keep hearing about but still exists only on prototype-land. Either way, I don't think the new Vette advertising campaign should have much problem targeting Porsche.
GO VETTE!!!!
