Hello!! First time post - glad that I stumbled across this forum.

Appreciate it if someone has heard of this problem before - After not driving the car (69 Coupe, L36-427/390HP) for a few months, I check fluids and found the rear compartment in the MC empty. I added some fresh fluid, replaced the cover, pressed the bake pedal and heard this squishing sound from the master cylinder. Using a mirror, I saw that the fluid is dripping out (or squishing out when under pressure) from within the "loop" that is part of the underside of the MC. Possible that MS has rusted or eroded thu? Car is not rusted badly anywhere else. Not leaking from the seal where the MC is bolted on. I am guessing replacement of the MC - never done this before - help.

Moisture can get into the system over time, especially if the car sits for long periods and can cause the reservoir to become corroded. If the MC is gone, chances are that the rest of the brake system is supect, and in need of a thorough inspection.

Thanks for the info. I had new brake lines put on the car a few years back, but I will have everything checked. Thanks again.
