i remember reading in my early research one of the problems a lot of people had with the 84's was that they leaked when it rains... mine is one of them... when i looked at it i noticed off the bat that the weatherstripping in it was in perfect condition compared to my 82 at the time which was almost alll gone... yrt my 82 hardly leaked! the 84 doewsnt leak bad but enough to annoy me... what i wonder is.. is this a problem i can fix by spending the money and replacing the weatherstripping or is it something im just gonna deal with. it only leaks onthe pass side but one of the problems is water gets down into the speaker and makes for a miserable sound when it gets wet!

Mine does the same thing. I just don't drive it when it rains and bring extra towels for driving through the car wash!

been my policy so far:thumb

Mine's never leaked so far (knock on wood).
Where is it leaking FROM? Near the glass? The outer door weatherstrip? The mirror to body connection?:beer

the pass side door at where the glass meets the seal.. and to look at it you wouldnt think it would leak

Thats funny where they started sticking stuff in later vettes when they ran out of room! I guess they did that when they redesigned the dash? (84-89 is "normal" and is in dash)

I rememebr someone else mentioning theirs leaked in another thread (maybe another site?) in the EXACT same spot as hotshotzny and they were equally perplexed. I wonder if they ever figured it out;shrug

Just for grins, open the storage compartment behind the passenger seat (where the radio receiver is located) stick your hand past the foam insert and feel the bottom of the compartment for water; BIG cause of radio damage!

Checked it the other night after a hard rain and it was bone dry in there
