Help! left headlamp winks when driving

the left headlamp will intermittently go up and stay up for 30 to 45 sec and then go down it will stay down for 10 to 15 min and then repeat this happens only when you are driving down the road with the headlamps off if you turn the headlamps on the left comes up and the right stays down, I have tried the washers as advised per TSB 00-08-42-002 , No change

Somewhere around here is a thread discussing the 'bumpers' on the headlight assemblies; there are four of them on each headlight, and they look like small, metal tabs with a rubber cover over them. From what I can infer from what I've read, they act as proximity sensors for the headlight positions (full up or down). When the protective rubber covers rub through or fall off, the headlights can act strangely. Sometimes a fix is as simple as 'flipping' the rubber covers on the tab to provide it with the proper protection... Just a WAG of something you can check...
