Hello everybody,

After softly hitting a tree and within 4 weeks the automatic gearbox went to a next level (broke). I planned to totaly go for a body off. I'm taking it apart then i have the time for about 4 weeks now. I'm trying to actually separate the body from the chassis between christmas and new year...

But i have a question, when i look through a hole in the chassis in the left side (underneath the door) i think i see a black rigded plastic cover (the same as in the enginebay over the grouped electrical cabels... Does anybody know if there are electrical cabels through the chassis? And if it's yes, from where to where?
I thought maybe it's the computers electral wiring?

Greetings Peter.

Oww talking about reaction time!! :)

Thanks for the answer Gerry.
If i look at it in a logical way the cable from the generator to the battery shoot be the one!! I'll try to locate the point of "entering the chassis" tomorrow. But from the sheet i would say between the two body mounts.

If somebody want to see the pic's the way my vette is now, please say so. The pic's or on my internetspace..

Greets Peter.

Definetely, if you are really going to take the body off, then ask Santa for the assembly book. It is well worth it. The only thing I dislike about the one from Mid America, is that the pages are layed out "landscape" style with the image oriented 180 degrees around from the previous page (when looked from the edge with the three-ring binder holes). So as you turn the pages, one has to crook the neck to the left on one page and to the right on the next page. Ideal would be to lay down the book landscape style and flip the pages up without having to re-orient one self.

One last one, and I hope it helps...

Sure Peter, let's see them. Post a link on the page when you have a chance.

Well I think Santa ain't stopping at my place this year, but no prob. I already have the assembly and workshop manuals but they're with my vette about 1.5 miles from here. So when I remember a question I have, or I need to go back the 1.5 miles or ask it on the net.. Or just call me lazy..:z
I'm trying to get the body off and to make a list of stuff i need for the chassis and suspension. The euro/dollar is very good for us to import stuff from the states. So if it stays this way for just 2 or 3 months i would be very happy!:cool :upthumbs

Here some pic's of the project:
The rest of the pictures are on my webspace (are only pictures and also hosting some pic's for other folks) Enjoy..

All body mounts came lose w/out any problems, front and rear bumper same thing. At this point i'm disconnecting the wiring from the block that's also connected to the body.. Keep you updated!

Groeten Peter.
