on my 75 there is a slide switch attached to the throttle pedal on the top. it seems to activate when the gas is applied ,but what does it do??there is no pollution gear left on it so if it's that i can toss it. maybe a tps???please help mike

that is the "kick down" switch for a turbo 400 trans
 
the photo of the pedal in the manual didn't have one installed,i should have checked the wiring specs. the old 400 is gone and now has a fresh 350 turo w/ shift kit and 2400 stall. i don't think i'll miss the switch much.should have caught the orange wire.mike.

Mike do you have the fresh air flapper in the hood? i have one on my 74 and that switch operates that also.

the hood was butchered when i got it. i got a new l88 style hood that's ready for a cowell induction, but i'm not going to use it.the switch stops the throttle from going to the mat, and there's no adjustment to back it off.i'd like to hok it back up, but there's not enough good parts left on the old hood to do it.
