LH or RH Horn???????????????????

Hi

I posted a thread in July regarding replacing one of my horns (drivers side) from Eckler's.

I just reread the thread an l'm a little confused. First off is the drivers side the LH and the passenger side RH?

Second question, the passenger side horn makes a low tone beep, should l replace the drivers side with a F note?

The Eckler's catalog only lists a F note for my 96. Is this correct.

But then they list on another page a high note replacement!

A,C, and D do not pertain to my model year.

Also being that a connector attaches to the horn, do l still have to take off the neg batt cable?

Kingman horn

Driver's side is LH.
Both + and - are supplied to the horn via the connector so once the connector is apart, the horn has no power and the battery need not be disconnected.
I'm parked in (guest parked in front of the garage door) and can't open the hood to try the horns separately for tone. Will try in the morning and reply.

I recall reading somewhere in the manual that the tone of the horn (s) is adjustable. Anybody familiar with this?

I loaned my manual to a buddy so I can't confirm.

Horn adjust

The manual says there's a screw-driver adjustment but doesn't illustrate where it is. My guess is near the center of the coclia (spiral).
The manual says clockwise increases current. Make the adjustments in 1/4 turn increments.
Too high current produces a low pitched moan. Too low current produces a 'weak tone' - how's that for precise description LOL
The current specification is 4.5 to 5.5 amps at 11.5 to 12.5 volts (for those inclined to measure it). It's easiest to try 1/4 turn increments to get what you like.
One valuable thing the manual mentions - When replacing the horns, make sure the headlights are clear to swing.
Most of my cars have several horns which were retrieved from junk cars over the years. Makes for an interesting note, sometimes out of key but it gets attention.
Buicks have a particularly obnoxious horn.

I don't believe both + and - are supplied by the connector. I think + is, and ground is through the screw holding the horn down. A week or so ago, I thought I'd lost one of mine, so I unplugged one to see if the other was working, then unplugged the other and plugged the first in. Found that the connection had just corroded a little and by wiggling the connection the horn worked again. A little cleaning later, and all is fine.
