Gone but not forgotten
Corvette Fever magazine has an article by Steve Temple in the September issue, detailing "What it takes to restore a '64 coupe after four decades of ownership." You can find the article on page 60, it's entitled "Lift Off".
I don't normally come in here (the C-1/C-2 forum) too much, but in this case I had to mention the article because I know the parties involved. Milt Lewis, the owner, is a wonderful, warm and friendly guy, with many great stories to tell of his adventures in (and with) the sky.
Carlos Vivas, of C&S Restoration, is a good friend (He was my saviour when I crashed my Vette at Big bear in '95 and trailered me home - saved me five hundred bucks!). He is also the founding member of Southwest Corvettes, one of my local clubs.
Sadly, Carlos is currently undergoing chemotherapy for lymphoma. I appeal to all of you, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers; he wasn't looking too good at our meeting today, and he still has one more treatment before he gets a break. The treatments are worse than the disease sometimes.
Thank you all.
