i recently purchased the low fan sensor (on at 200 off at 185) if i'm right it goes into the block on an 89 right? my fan (i only have one) only comes on at 236!! i hope this solves the problem! p.s. i'm also gonna flush and clean radiator area as i've been reading about!

I think it's on the drivers side of the block, my wire keeps falling off, let me know how it works, mine (89) runs hot too(234) before fan comes on.

this happened after i changed the ecm. its all stock. iv'e been reading about reprogramming also. i'll let u know when its done. how many fans in your 89?

On my '84 the sensor on the drivers side is the sending unit for the temperature gauge in the dash. The fan switch is located on the passenger side of the block near the back. I'm not 100% sure if this is still the case on your model so if anybody here knows otherwise please correct me. Good luck!

thanks for the info i hope someone with an 89 has experieced this or is familiar!! i'll keep u posted
