I am ready to paint the door jambs....i had a pint of ackrilic enamel mixed , and then he made a can of spray paint out of that.....so i have touch-up paint and a nice can of spray...now im ready to paint....its not too bad but it is not pretty when opening the door.....i have some wet sanding paper , so i was going to lightly sand it , tape the heck out of it....and shoot it....

Do i need to prime it first?
If so what kind?
do i need to go back where i got the paint?
When i remove the tape , when do i do it? right after i spray? or do i wait a day or two?
Thanks in advance.

Before sanding it, clean surfaces with a GOOD wax remover. Then scuff surfaces with fine scotchbrite, making sure you scuff close up to the masked areas. Wipe down again with wax/grease remover and follow up with clean dry wipe. Mask, tack and spray. Remove tape carefully after paint sets up (3-4 hours) Good luck!

Thanks crash

:beer going to do it this weekend.

When you are taping off sections, you might consider rolling up the side of the tape just off the edge that you are spraying. That gives you a feather edge instead of the hard edge that pressed down tape will give.
