I was thinking about getting a set of the Boyd Coddington Smoothies in 17" x 8" with 255/50 for my 81. I was wondering if anyone has them and if their is any problems with fit.

Please post a followup if you do in fact order them. I've also been looking at them for my '81. I read a thread somewhere recently that suggested there was a long waiting period. I'd like to know if you experience the same.

Good Luck,

I wanted to get the same rims but they were backordered for 8plus weeks. Had to be made by Boyd was the story. For fit I was going to go with 245/50/17's. I went with 245/60/15's on the stock ralleyes but still want to do the smoothies in a 15.

Let me know how the order goes. I think these rims are very attractive.

im in the middle of ordering rims this week from boyds(starburst) ,waiting to hear how long its gone to take, hopefully today i hear something.

Each Boyd wheel is made to order so typical wait is 4 - 5 weeks. Mine took right at 5. But they are well worth the wait.

jeff thats good to know,5 weeks isnt too bad i guess.

Those are cool Pat. What sizes did you decide on?

17x8 in the front and i tried for 11's in rear but just cant fit them so i had to go with 9.5 with 4 inch backspace and a 275/50/17 for the rear tire.Itll still look good.
