I'm looking to buy a mid 80s corvette next year as I am tired of my camaro. I dont know alot about corvettes and was wondering what problems or things to look for when shopping for one and if a particular year is better than the rest. I'm only really looking for cars older than 1988 to avoid having to do emissions testing

If you're only looking at Corvettes older than 1988, then I'd suggest you stay in the C3 generation and stay away from 1984-1987. The C3 is probably easier to work on, as well as being less technical than the C4's.

Use this site to do your research and if I can help, don't hesitate to contact me.

well the emissions test isnt really too terribly important as long i dont have to buy a new cat i guess, but also the newer the car the more expensive it is generally, although for those years of corvettes it gets more expensive whether you go newer or older lol. so i guess its not really set in stone that it has to be 80's. what would offer the best performance for around say 7 or 8 grand

early 90's ??

I got my 91 for 6 grand. Are you open to something late 80's early 90's? What is it about the mid 90's you like so much? Keep your eyes open and you may find a good deal during winter
