I lifted the battery on my C5 after reading about leakage problems, and sure enough, a battery had leaked in my car. Lifted the battery out (this battery is not the leaker) and pulled the panel from inside the wheel well to get at the underside of the leak.
Guess I was lucky in that the wiring and terminals on the 'puter weren't damaged or corroded, just the frame and a bit on the side of the 'puter. Baking soda, an air hose and some spray paint fixed that problem up.
What I did notice though, even though the computer retainer was properly tightened up, the computer was loose in the retainer!! I mean it could jiggle and bounce wherever it wanted too! It couldn't fall out, but it would sure be bouncing and vibrating. I could see the wear marks where the 'puter had been working against the plastic retainer.
I had some rubber stair tread material from which I cut a few strips of shim material and now the 'puter is held snugly but not tight enough to squeeze it at all.
Might be something to look into if you have the right front corner of the car jacked up, being loose can't be good for the 'puter!!
