oh, just including the C5 regulars to chime in and post pics of what they did and tell stories of What they would suggest doing:

Ok
Black on Black Vette -
(Putting Chrome lettering in the rear_)
Have the 4inch Borla quad tips chorme.
20inch and 19 inch Chrome HRE Rims.

Lloyds mats and cargo mat en route(or soon to be ordered) in black with silver emblem.

So #1, would you put louvers on the tail lights?

if yes, Black or Chromed?

(no, calipers are not painted and stock rotors are still on - will go zinc'd slotted/drilled rotors in a few months and probably go with a silver powdercoat on the calipers)

Or what should I do to the Calipers????

Thanks guys - value the opinions

JMO but I would suggest leaving the tailights alone...

Working with the brakes is fine though.....

IMO the corvette C5 is show sharp...so flashy right from the factory I believe the car does not benefit from ornamentation like tailight louvers etc...

Big brakes? great...New hoods? Seen some very sharp ones...

Interior mods? Yep!

Performance mods? YEP!

Hope you don't mind just one mans opinion...

No louvers ...not chrome or painted....

Dont mind at all!
Thanks for participating :)

No on the louvers over the tail lights.

I put the plastic body colored molding on the front turn signal lights. I thinks it looks cool. Also installing a Raptor Shift light. Looks cool on the inside.

What would really look cool on that black C5 would be.......

.....
UM...

A picture with no rusty rotors!!!!

Sorry, couldnt resist.

HAHAHA
I know I know - new pic on the way .. sigh.. .

Have the front turnsignal divider molding coming next week with my Lloyds rear cargo mat.

:)

What do I wanna do? (no one has ever asked me that before!) well, maybe a few times but that was a long time ago......

Just taking an opinion poll and seeing what others have done.

Think Im going with the chrome peel n sticks for now for the lettering in the rear.
Probably put them in the airbag too if the rear install goes smoothly.

Calipers.. undecided.. EVERYONE goes Red... sigh.. and this Vette doesn't look like everyone's.
I think chromed Calipers would be too BLING BLING but maybe a zinc'd with shiney clear coat...
who knows - I may be the lemming and just go ZO6 red with em in a week or two.

Torn between blackouts and louvers for the rear lights. I have LED bulbs in that I do not believe will shine bright enough thru blackouts..

decisions decisions.. hahaha

yes, tired of hearing about em! LOL!!!!!!!

yea, me too - I thought it was a nice offset to the chrome and black..
a nice bronze or copper rotor.. Hey, its different..
LOL!

Rain, your car looks ultra sharp. I would'nt cheapen the look with 10 cent louvers of any kind. Vette rear lights look great as is. West Coast has a flush mount rear tail light kit that looks great. Check it out. As for your calipers, keep with the black theme of the car, don't break it up with red. Paint the calipers black, then dremel the Corvette letters down to the shiny metal, and apply a clear top coat. The shiny Vette letters will compliment your polished wheels. Can the rear lettering idea also. Looks cheap.

With the flush kit, what exactly are you getting?
longer bolts and a molded plastic collar that goes in behind the lens housing?

just curious

Just as you said. Also included are two forms of weather stripping and directions. Mine installed in 1 hour and everyone who notices loves the look.

I did black lettering on the rear bumper - they look lovely; but no louvering on the tail lights, I thought that would be somewhat of an exaggeration. I also placed black "5.7 Liter Tuned Port Injection" sticker at the rear of the driver window. I added red color CORVETTE letters on the black fuel rail covers and a polished aluminium C4 emblem plate on the throttle body. There is also C4 information plate on the ashtray cover.

I think that's as far as I will go. Enough is enough.

But hey, it is your car and it is really upto you. I would say "do not exaggerate". Lean and mean is the best way to go.

Cheers,

Selim

No to the louvers on the lights. Would love to see the flush lights in person to decide on them. As far as the rear and front letters, on my Yellow and on the Lemans blue I did fill them in,both with red and I think it looks like what Chevrolet should have done at the factory. But it is only "my opinion"
