I just tried my high beams the other night in my 06 convertible and I saw no difference in road illumination.
I went home and tried every possible light configuration and all the lights were operable with the exception of the low beams. When I turn on the lights the orange running lights are on and the middle smaller light which I understand are the high beams. When I pull back the high beam lever nothing happens. I can hear a relay or something under the hood and the blue high beam indicator light comes on but nothing happens with the low beam (light closest to the center of the car). If the flood lights are on and I pull the high beam lever the floods kick out. I cannot imagine that this is a fuse issue because both sides are off.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The car has 5000 miles on it with obviously very little night time driving.
thanks,

Had this happen to me when I bringing the 08 back from S Dakota after the initial purchase. Stopped in Chevy dealer in Colorado and they found it was a defective relay. Took about 10 minutes to replace and fix; they also did the recall on the convertible top front brace. In and out in under 30 minutes. I think my 02 gives better illumination than the C6 does. If you are still under warranty, have the dealer check it out.

Barrett,
Thanks for the information. I can hear a rely clicking when I try to active the high beams.
I do have an extended warranty, I will take it in and have them check it out. Thanks again,
Dolce

Problem Solved

Took the car to Tom Oats Chevrolet today and they checked out the light issue. Relay was good and wire harness was fine.
Told me they would check the bulbs and sure enough both bulbs were burnt. This blew my mind, car has 5500 miles. Anyway, problem solved.

The C6 gives 30% more light than the C5 does, according to Dave Hill.

Did they replace the exciters also? PM me with the cost of the low beams please. (I know the headlight kit runs $970 per side,.)

No, it was actiually the high beams and they replaced both bulbs. The cost was approximately $157.00. they did perform some diagnostics trying to locate the problem.
Know one thought that both bulbs would go and this was the last thing to look at.
