The other day I pulled onto the expressway from an on ramp and nailed it in second. The car reacted and broke traction (normal) - then all hell broke loose!
DIC displayed service traction, bell chimed and then the low power message came on the DIC and I had barely idle power.

I limped to a nearby parking lot and shut down and restarted. Normal power and check engine light.

Drove home and restarted/shut down several times to clear the computer. The check engine light went away.

I have since broken traction with the traction on and off and every thing has reacted normally.

Anyone have any thoughts? (I don't have a code reader so I don't know if any codes are in the computer.)

Drakester,
I don't have any idea what caused your power loss, but depending on how much time has elapsed since your incident happened (and how many times you've started your engine since then), you can still obtain the history codes. CLICK HERE for a summary of how to pull codes from your DIC and how to interpret them. The codes will now have an "H" after them, indicating history (rather than currently active), but you might be able to piece together what happened.

Hope this helps.

I just looked at the codes - several C level codes (loss of communication with....) A PCM MAF code and a TCS inhibit code.

Makes me think a computer glitch. Bad time to happen - accelerating onto an expressway!

My C5 will do this if it is not Warmed up,Sometimes !! junk!!
