I have an opportunity to purchase a Black/Saddle LT-4 with 68K miles on the clock for 10K. Seats look pretty good carpet on drivers side is worn on the left with a minor tear. Tires dont match fronts match rears match but different brands/tire pattern but correct size. Everything seems to work great and has been serviced very well from the car fax. 3 owners and the last owner had it for 10 yrs and averaged 450 mi yr. Targa top has not good very scratched but I see one on craigslist for 400. Also stock wheels in good shape just don't like the stock pattern. Air cold, clutch seems very strong and runs like a bat out of hell srt of speak. 10K seems really good but should mI spens another 6-8K and get a C-5? decisions decisions. By the way the dealer started at 16K a while ago and now down to 10K There firm on 10 so they say today. Any thoughts?:thumb

Any thoughts?

The 96 corvette equipped with the LT4 and 6 speed is a great car. 10k for a low mileage example seems like a great deal. C-5 is a completely different animal, much more
refined I would say. You seem to strap on a C-4, sit in a C-5, in my opinion. It's really a personal decision only you can make.

Very true...I think for a few dollars, wheels new targa top the way it has been serviced it's almost a can't miss deal. I guess it's good and bad these cars have taken such a beating on value but I guess theres just so many and the economy still is not very good. Tough to beat LT-4 performance for 10K and relatively low miles.

And Yea...Go Cards!:happyanim:

Go for the LT4

Without seeing the car it sounds like it is not a bad deal. You will like the power of the LT4. As long as the heavy mechanicals are in good shape and the body is good you can take care of the rest with some TLC and of course some $$$.
My top was scratched so I purchased a new top by Melrose at Carlisle a few years ago and have been very satisfied. They installed it on-site too.
The other person ahead of me said it right, you strap on an LT4 C4 and yousit in a C5. He is right.
My LT4 is bone stock and it pulls great with the 3.45's I maybe opting for 3.73's just to give it some more off the line zip.
Buy it----Good luck you wont be dissapointed!

I would spend the extra on a c5. I have had both. Or walk into the dealer with 8k cash in $100 bills and be prepared to walk out if he says no.

The c5 is a lot more car especially z06. No comparison between my LT4 and my Z06.
